Swept Away
we would have been closer.
My melody of comfort,
the ivory keys played with care.
Like grace notes embellishing a piece,
dissipating memories of your laughter ring through.
If given more time,
this song, bland and incomplete
would be captivating, compelling and clear.
You were swept away,
the wind taking our song.
It tangled with the score
leaving only a few sheets left to cherish.
But no more time was given.
Our song, an unfinished symphony
Though short, the harmonies are flawless.
All that remain are memories;
I treasure them,
for they are the notes that play our song.

Missions Adventures--Happy Easter
First off....HAPPY EASTER!!!! And no I am not talking about the Easter the world knows as bunnies and eggs...(what is the relation between the two anyways......) I am talking about the REAL Easter. Jesus is Alive!!! This year our Church had a Good Friday evening service and a Sunday morning service. Both where soo good. It was so amazing just to focus on the cross and then celebrate our risen Lord. Both services I felt where sooo powerful! I really enjoyed them!
So tomorrow I leave for my Missions trip to Winnipeg! Yes I am excited but also a little bit hesitant. I'm not nervous about anything... I did it in Vancouver no problem. I'm just a little nervous about team unity. I'm just really trying to give it to God. I don't want anything like that to hinder our group. I really think our team could just use some prayer in that area.
Well... I don't really know what else I should write about. I haven't even started packing yet and it is 6 pm. We leave tomorrow at 6:30!!!! thats sooo crazy.

Hungry?
This Past weekend I was involved in the 30 hour famine at my Church. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is a bunch of teens who Raise support money for World Vision and then stay up all night and don't eat anything.. for 30 hours. The money goes to starving families in poverty stricken countries. It was a really fun time. After 8 hours you hardly feel anything. I had 4 hours of sleep... which was a lot compared to the rest of the youth group. This Famine though has really just made me think about the Kids in Africa. As part of the Famine, World Vision sent us some clips of the families that they help. Many of the families don't have parents alive and they must find their own food. They grind up tree bark which has no nutritional value to it whatsoever and it takes more calories to grind up then it actually gives when you eat it. I can't imagine. In Canada, we eat when we are full and we say we are starving when we hardly feel hunger pains. We Live in a country who spends more money on trying to lose the weight we put on from the food we eat then we do on Children who have no food to eat. I think it is self-ish and wrong. It really breaks my heart.
During the Famine, My Friend Jonathon started thinking about how we are fasting and yet we are hardly thinking about God. So when he brought this up we announced that we where going to have a prayer meeting (this was at 3:50 in the morning). So about 12 of us just sat in a circle and prayed for 20-25 mins. It was really amazing, some of the thoughts and prayer requests that where brought up where really self less. One guy brought up that we go through this famine thinking about the end of it when we are actually going to eat again... the Kids that are starving don't know when they are going to eat.
Just a thought to close. If we as a nation are soo hungry why don't we fill it up with something that will actually satisfy the hunger, something Rather than food. God wants to fill us up, why aren't we letting him? I'm not saying quit eating.. I'm just saying that we need to listen to God more intently and let him fill us...This goes for more things than food... it may be media, material, substances , etc.
Think about it.

Coming soon.... HOME ALONE 5...!!!!
But I guess the reason why I am blogging about this is because the whole situation just kind of reminded me of Home Alone. Personally I like the ones with the original Cast and not so much the newer two. Sorry to dissapoint you all though, no creeps have tried to break in to my house yet, but one thing that is for certain... my whole house is a booby trap waiting to be set off!! Yup I even did the whole egg yokes in a pale over the door trick and then once that is dumped on them a huge feather pillow will smack them in the face!! MWAHAHAHA oh the things I do!! So If any of you feel sorry for me I do ask you to come visit me but please know that it is at your own risk!!
Lanah
ps...I still have one more day of home alone the fifth so if any of you have any more ideas of what other traps I could set up please feel free to comment!!
pss... do you think they will make a movie of me too???

Admiration
This is just a picture of some trees in my yard last year. We haven't seen too much 'horror frost', as they call it, this year but I love seeing it when it does happen. It is just soo pretty! When I was a little girl I would go outside, stand under a tree and shake a branch while closing my eyes and feeling the frost fall on me! Hey it feels neat! But the reason why I love this picture so much is because my Heavenly Father set each crystal on those banches.... INDIVIDUALLY! That tells me right there just how much He loves me and cares for me!

Winter in Saskatchewan!

Hey everyone! So this morning I woke up just like every school day morning at 6:50am and had a shower. While I was doing my hair and Makeup I hear on the Radio that buses to schools have been cancled and some schools have been closed. So then I look out side and its BLIZZARDING!!! I was so extremely excited! So all day I have been at home listening to the sounds of the wind howling and the fireplace fan kicking in and out. The pictures that I posted along with this are some things that can very easly describe a Saskatchewan winter. Wool socks, low temperatures, zero visibility!!
Because of the weather, Mom and dad have been keeping the radio on all day long. There is this guy on the Radio that people call in to and tell them how the weather is where they are. This one guy called in and was very calm and was telling the reporter all about the weather and how there is like zero visibility on the highway where he is driving. Then he interupts the reporter and too calmly says "hmmm... there is a car on the wrong side of the highway and they are driving towards me.... I better be careful!!" A couple thingst that I found funny about this is that not only was the guy abnormally calm, but he was also driving on a divided highway, and if the visibility is so bad then why is he driving and talking on the cell phone at the same time. Hahaha.... This made me laugh!

Back to the Grind
So today was the first day back at school from the holidays and that also means my first day back at teaching piano. The day was great, it felt extremely long but I'm glad it is nearly finished so that I can go to bed and have a good nights sleep. Only two more students and a little bit of homework and then I get to indulge in my favorite past time....reaching my REM!!!
Goodnews also. Megan made it safely to Tennessee!! I'm so excited for her. I am still waiting on news from Lauren but I know that she will make there safely and that everything is going well!
But I have to go... my other students are here!

Blogging it up!
So a little about me. I just took my grade two theory exam on December 9th and I will be taking my Grade 8 Piano exam in spring. I also teach Piano to 4 kids and I am also involved in singing in church and youth.
But I should run. I hope that I can keep this blog up.... I guess it will kinda be my New Year's resolution and also a way to keep connected with My friends who are gone for a chapter.
Love and Prayers
