So most of my great memories are of the last three days out of the trip. On Thursday night it was really neat because we went to a restaraunt that we had cleaned windows for the night before. This Restaraunt was founded along with a theater by a man in the community activively involved with YWAM and New life ministries. the Restaraunt is very cheap and the theater is free but by looking at them you would never know that the majority of the people that eat their are very poor people and homless. Inside it is very modern and is decorated with Pier One style furniture. It is such a great idea. They even made meal cards that homeless people could buy that costs only a few dollars but with it they can get the special of the day for like 7 days.
After we went for supper we hung out in the house. ( the house by the way Lauren....was three floors high with a basement....and was sooo nice.. it didn't even smell funny!!) The guys went a little crazy with some washeable markers as you can see. but it was soo much fun!
Friday was our tourism day. We went to the forks and the Zoo. We had a blast. I mostly hung out with Andrea, Kenton and Travis and we took sooo many crazy pictures! And played in the Elevator for probably half an hour!
Saturday we came home. Our bus broke down ...sometime about some sort of fluid not getting to the break line and the E-break was stuck on or something.. I dont' know and then also the gas pedal kept breaking.... so we where stranded on the highway for a bit. I had to go to the bathroom so Me and Olivia and Jan went into the bush and took use of some fallen trees. Olivia and I decided to stay in the trees and build a fort. It was soo fun. We got a little wet and dirty but we didn't care.
Some ministries we did throughout the week were: Working at Winnipeg Harvest -sorting potatoes, onions and making kits for shelters. New life Ministries - cleaning up streets, allies, yards and buildings. Roses to Prostitutes- handing out roses to the working girls at night...only this time we didn't walk around we drove. Servant Evangelism -sharing a bagged lunch with a homeless person, meeting new people on the street and handing out Hot Chocolate.
The week was a blast...I spent alot of it praying, but I think that is what God was trying to teach me....to rely on him more!
